Deshaun Watson Looked Worth The Money Today As The Browns Kicked The Absolute Shit Out Of The Titans
What a fucking statement win for the Cleveland Browns. I'll admit that just 6 days ago, the world felt like it was crumbling down after Nick Chubb was ruled out for the rest of the season and we lost to what has to be one of the worst teams in the NFL this year, the Steelers. Like, they have to tank for Caleb Williams, right? 32nd ranked quarterback in the NFL Kenny Pickett cannot be the guy. But I can't even talk shit because he was the guy that beat our $230,000,000 man on National Television. Anyways, vibes were as low as I could ever remember for this franchise, which may I remind you went 1-15 and 0-16 back to back. But after today? We're all the way back baby. I feel so good about this season again for many reasons, but none more so than our QB finally looking like what we signed up for:
Not a bad day at the office. And think about what that line would've been had the refs not handled this Amari Cooper clear and obvious touchdown worse than I thought was humanly possible in the year of 2023. Seriously, did this guy go to Ref school?
How do you blow that dead and then be wrong…? Everyone and their mother knows that you let it play out, then you take it back if needed. So dumb, and it cost Deshaun another 40 yards and a touchdown. Should've been a 330 yard, 3 touchdown performance that catapulted him into the MVP race. Kidding, kidding. Everyone knows the MVP leader is on the other side of the ball for the Browns.
Laugh out loud funny, but also genius move by Myles. There is no one in football that impacts the game more than Myles Garrett does these days. He cannot be blocked. 3.5 sacks today, causing Delay of Games, completely altering game plans, etc etc. I guess this what happens when we pair perhaps the best combination of size and strength this world has ever seen with a Defensive Coordinator that has a brain? And my god does he have a brain. Jim Schwartz has these dawgs EATING. Giving up 10 points per game in the NFL? Two of three games holding professional football teams to THREE points? In all seriousness, if the offense that is supposed to be elite can just find a way to be average, this defense could legitimately carry us to a Super Bowl.
Additionally, I fucking LOVED the fire I saw on both sides of the ball today, but more importantly from the head ball coach himself. This Kevin Stefanski / Deshaun Watson chest bump had me standing up off my couch and clapping.
What a fucking scene. What a fucking weekend for Ohio football. I feel so good. We are so back.
Okay, I'm not going to pump my chest out too hard because we beat the Titans. Playoff teams are supposed to be the Titans (even though I'd argue we did more than "beat" them). What's coming up these next two games vs. the Ravens and 49ers will truly show us where we stand, not just in the AFC North race but in the entirety of the NFL. Are we Super Bowl contenders or not? 2-0 and we're favorites. 1-1 and we're contenders. 0-2 and I still think we're going to make the playoffs, but we're clearly not "there yet".
I'm not sure it's possible to overstate how important this game against the Ravens is next week. With a win, we're 2-1 sitting in 1st place in the North through our first round of games against the division. With a loss, we're 2-2 (1-2 in the North) and the Ravens would have already beaten both the Bengals and Browns on the road. Holy shit, the more I type the more I realize how monumental this week is. Enjoy this absolute ass kicking we handed out today boys, but once that clock strikes midnight, I want all focus on the RAVENS.
